Social Programme

IBCM, in partnership with our sister college – Berlitz- offers a varied and exciting social schedule organized by our Social Activities Co-Ordinator to complement your study programme. These provide an opportunity to meet other students and to explore Manchester’s exciting social scene and sporting culture.

Typical social activities include regular restaurant outings to areas such as Manchester’s Curry Mile or China Town and organised tours of major sporting venues such Manchester United’s famous ‘Theatre Of Dreams’ or the huge Manchester Aquatics centre.

We also organise Activities through our partnership with Smile Adventures  :

  • cultural nights, social meetings and theatre visits;
  • visits to the Lake District, North Wales, Stratford, York and Edinburgh;
  • discount lunches;
  • a reception each term for members to meet socially;
  • regular world quiz nights, tai chi, juggling and belly dancing classes.

The current schedule is shown below.

Students are encouraged to join the International Society. The International Society, located on Oxford Road, is a busy centre for international students based in the Manchester area. The society has over 3,000 members from over 150 different countries, making it a great place to meet friends and make contacts during your stay. Its members, many of whom have themselves experienced living away from their native country, aim to ensure students have a rewarding experience in the UK.

The society arranges weekend trips around the UK, offers over 40 different classes each week and organises over 100 different social events throughout the year, helping you to make the most of your time in the UK.
