Course Overview

The NCC Level 5 Diploma in Business is a valuable diploma in business which enables students to advance their business knowledge and understanding.

The Level 5 Diploma provides opportunity for learners to further expand their leadership and entrepreneurial outlook with a specific focus on operational management running through every unit.

By completing the Level 5 Diploma in business qualification, students will  enhance their skills to thrive in a professional environment.  The course enhances students’ specialist business knowledge and understanding and prepares learners for a range of higher education courses and job roles related to the business sector.

Achieving the Level 5 Diploma in Business, with a minimum grade of pass, can provide progression on to NCC Educations Level 6 Diploma in Business Strategy and Management alongside other qualifications at the same level.

Upon successful completion, students can apply to a wide range of universities in the UK and worldwide that recognise NCC Education qualifications. Students may be eligible to apply for direct entry to the final year (Year 3) of a related Bachelor’s degree in Business or Management for entry with Advanced Standing.

To achieve the Level 5 Diploma in Business Management, students are required to complete 120 credits (typically consisting of 6 units selected from the modules listed below).

All units are assessed through coursework assignments, enabling students to demonstrate their understanding through practical application and analysis.

NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Business

OR

Local or international qualification deemed to be equal to the NCC Level 4.  This must be agreed with NCC in advance

For students for whom English is not their first language:

IELTS 5.5 or above

NCC English Placement Test

Or

Oxford Test of English

Applicants with other qualifications and/or experience will be considered on an individual basis.

 

Assessment and Grading

Each of the modules in the L5 Diploma in Business is assessed through the completion of assignment based work.

Assessment cycles take place in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.  Students will be provided with a timetable of assessment for their programme.

All assessments are carried out in English.

All assessments are intended to allow candidates to demonstrate that they have met the relevant learning outcomes.

Each module is awarded a mark of either pass, merit or distinction for successful candidates. A Pass is awarded for a mark of between 40 and 59. A Merit is awarded for a mark of between 60 and 69 and a Distinction is awarded for a mark of 70 and above. Candidates who obtain an overall unit mark of below 40 are classed as a fail in the unit/module and may undertake a resit. A final qualification mark will be awarded upon successful completion of all units. This is calculated by finding the average mark of all units that make up the qualification.
