Our Diploma in Computing L5 is a stepping stone towards a career in a specialist computing science subject. During this course, you will learn a diverse range of essential computing industry skills from troubleshooting computer problems to software development and CISCO networking. This course is an ideal choice if you wish to explore where your strengths lie and what area of computing you wish to specialise in.

You can choose one of two specialist paths based on your experience and strengths. These two paths will lead to a career in either software development or computer networking and security. This is a hands-on and practical course that will enhance your employability skills.
Each subject area you cover is tailored towards jobs available in the industry to make sure you get the best education to progress towards a specialist degree in computing science.

Career Progression
Students that complete the NCC Education Level 5 Diploma in Computing (L5DC) can enrol onto NCC Education’s final year BCIS or Computing top-up degrees:
- The BSc (Hons) Business Computing and Information Systems top-up degree is delivered online by NCC Education and is validated and awarded by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan)
- The BSc (Hons) Computing top up degree is delivered at selected NCC Education Accredited Partner Centres and is awarded by the University of Greenwich
- Or apply to Year 3 of a university degree programme.
The specialism routes available on the NCC Education Level 5 Diploma in Computing at the time of writing are:

Diploma in Computing (L5) - Entry Requirements
For entry onto the NCC Education L5DC qualification students must have at least one of the following:
- NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC)
OR
- A local or international qualification which is deemed to be of a similar level to the NCC Education L4DC qualification. This must be agreed with NCC Education in advance
If a potential student whose first language is not English, they will need to obtain a valid score of 5.5 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination or equivalent.
Alternatively, take the free NCC Education Higher English Placement Test, which is administered by our Accredited Partner Centres.
Applicants with other qualifications and/or experience will be considered on an individual basis.
